Links to photographs repaired
A friend informed me that many of the photographs on various pages of my website at: http://www.seventyyearsinthecoalmines.org were not opening. I discovered that the links had disappeared. I have repaired the links to the photographs and hope that they are all working now.

I have read 70 years in the coal mines (twice) and have recommended it to anyone who loves delving into history as told by one who was there. I soo enjoyed it.. I may read it again very soon.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather was a mining foreman who worked in the Clinchmore mine just a few miles from the Fraterville and Cross Mountain sites. He mined until shortly before his death in 1955. My father was born in the Clinchmore Mining camp in 1930.

Robbie, thank you so much for your very kind comments. Coal mining is hard work and was very dangerous at the time of the Fraterville and Cross Mountain disasters. It is much safer now, but miners are still subject to fatal accidents, as occurred in Harlan County, KY, within the past few years. Thank you again for taking the time to post your comments.
